Helicopter Rides

Helicopter Rides

If you've ever been on a helicopter ride you will understand that they can lead to some of the most exhilarating experiences on the planet. There are some truly magnificent places in the world and in my opinion, there is no better way to experience them then from onboard a helicopter.

Helicopters not only offer the perfect vantage point from which to see the world most famous locations, they also offer unparalleled speed enabling entire cities to be packed into thirty minute flights. Though the list is obviously debateable in my opinion, there are really only two places that the thrill and the speed of helicopter rides can really be experienced and both are in Nevada.

Las Vegas

Some claim it to be tacky, others simply evil but show me a place with the same level of raw expectation and excitement and I will tell you that you are probably on drugs. Within a city in which each night, lives are changed for both better and worse, where the lights scream almost as loud as the slot machines and nowhere are those lights more beautiful than from high up in the black night sky. While many people may not agree with this, I once asked the pilot to fly out into the darkness of the desert and the approach back in from darkness to the madness of this beautiful city was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, if you like helicopter rides, skipping experiencing them in Vegas would be more sinful than the city itself.

The Grand Canyon

Literally cannot be adequately explained to those that have not witnessed the majesty for themselves. Telling people that its big, telling them that its terrifyingly huge as if God himself created it just to scream His existence just does not adequately explain how awe inspiring it is to see and yet most can find no other words then really, really big to accurately describe it.. Helicopter rides are particularly perfect for the Grand Canyon because not only do they show you what would take days to see by car in a simple half hour ride but they also show it to you in a way that a car never could. Though the demand for the service causes it to be pretty expensive, if it's your first time seeing the Grand Canyon, then it is a once in a life time experience and such experiences should not be constrained by the size of your wallet.

Prices

There are many, many companies offering helicopter rides in Nevada and as such the prices found can vary widely. Though you may get lucky with the odd sale or promotion here and there, in general the cheapest that you will find will be around the hundred dollar mark and this will solely consist of a trip through the night lights of Vegas. However should you be willing to pay around four hundred and fifty dollars, you can find companies that will take you on a three and a half hour helicopter ride that incorporates not only the famous strip but also the Hoover Damn and the Grand Canyon. I've taken many helicopter rides but none compare to a flight that incorporates all three famous landmarks. If you can afford it, I'm not sure if your money can buy anything better.
